  Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding

Ingredients:
3 cups milk
3 large eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 T honey
juice from 1/2 lemon
2 tsp vanilla
2 T brown sugar

4 cups coarsely crumbled bread
1 1/2 cups freshly-grated apple and/or 1/2 cup chopped, dried fruit
1/2 cup chopped (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350.

Beat well together the first 8 ingredients (may use a blender).

Mix together in a 9x13-inch baking pan:
the bread, apple & nuts. Set aside.

Pour the first mixture into the pan over the bread & push everything around with a wooden spoon until it is uniformly combined. Bake 35 minutes. Serve hot, warm or cold with heavy cream, ice-cream, fresh fruit or applesauce.
